Peer Review Study:
Results from UCLA Health Pharmacy

In 2020, a superteam of healthcare stakeholders joined forces to evaluate the use of verifiable credentials to give pharmacists new tools to interoperate with manufacturers and secure the drug supply chain.

The results of our real-world deployment with the UCLA specialty pharmacy are published in the peer-review journal Blockchain in Healthcare Today, with contributions from supply chain leaders at Genentech, Amgen, and Sanofi.

XATP Working Group Whitepaper

Under the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA), US pharmaceutical supply chain stakeholders face new and emerging requirements over the next three years. One such requirement is an example of a “know your customer” requirement, in which each Authorized Trading Partner (ATP) is required to confirm that their trading partners are also authorized.

As a result, tens of thousands of ATPs are responsible for authenticating each other’s identities before they can transact with one another. To address this challenge, in 2020 the XATP Working Group developed and tested eXtended ATP, a framework for ATP authentication, enhanced verification, and saleable returns documentation.
